Are you the person who likes to carry your own cutlery set when dining outside? I'm one of them. I try to avoid one-time-use items and also encourage my partner to do so. That means I have been looking for a convenient way to carry utensils around. Below are some utensil bags I made. I used it, rethink, and applied the user experience to the next idea. They were all fun to make.
(My older utensil pouch designs 2016-2019)
I come to this new utensil case design from experience and also the new living style. I attempt to make a bag that looks simple enough but has the function I need; I want it to be easily open, straightforward, and convenient to travel. Thus I have 1 longer pocket for misc items such as napkins or toothpicks, and 1 open holder specially designed for big or small dental floss. I have the drawing and brief measurement below for anyone who wants to try. 😀
The biggest challenge for me is to sew bias tape on the curve. After many redo-redesign-resew, I am finally satisfied and feel happier with the result. I still cannot sew them perfectly, but I am confident to sell them. They are available in my shop. There is only a limited number available and they were all handmade by me. Please understand that due to the nature of handmade, the size and details may differ slightly for each one. Thank you.
The size is:
outside: 10.375x2.5x2 inches
inside: 9.125x1.25x2 inches
