08 The Star (Working title)
Updated: Sep 30

After months of sitting with my thoughts, I finally have more confidence in showing my tarot card designs. 🦉
When I picked this topic for the next mini zine, I knew it wouldn't be easy. To understand where I stood when looking at the cards, I constantly checked what my sources (several books and websites) said, revisited past experiences, and analyzed everything more deeply. There were struggles, stuck moments, and confusion all fused together. Then, understanding would light up my brain (sort of), and there would be joy—before another cycle of struggle started again.
As I studied the cards, I gradually realized that there are no definite answers to what each card means. Different artists interpret the cards based on their own experiences and cultural backgrounds, and their meanings may not always match mine. I used to worry that people would tell me my cards were not what they were supposed to be. But eventually, I understood that my deck is my own interpretation. I may not be able to explain every artistic choice, and I know my ideas may change as I grow older and gain new experiences. Still, my intuition eventually told me to let go and move on. The me from five years from now will probably see these cards differently anyway. For now, these cards reflect what feels right to me.
Uh, so that's that, I guess. I can finally continue making this mini zine again. 🍀
