Art Zine: Picnic Day

Kapp’n and his family are heading into the forest for a picnic! Along the way, they run into many familiar NPCs, each enjoying their own little corner of the forest. And just when they think they’ve seen everyone, they meet Joan and her granddaughter, Daisy Mae.
Animal Crossing is one of my favorite games, and I still play it today. (I also play Pikmin and Tetris 99.) I thought, if I’ve designed Pikmin fabric, how could I not have my own Animal Crossing fabric?
Kapp’n has always been one of my favorite NPCs, so I wanted to design my fabric around him and the rest of the NPCs who aren’t in the New Horizons version. I had so much fun working on this!

I watched some bucket hat tutorials and pattern-making tutorials on YouTube and made a bucket hat out of my fabric! Here is the bucket hat pattern I designed specifically to fit my fabric. I also found another tutorial for making a bucket hat with a bow in the back. This version requires two pieces of my fabric.
Whether you choose the regular bucket hat or the bucket hat with a bow, I strongly suggest making a few practice runs before working with my fabric. Have fun!
