This is a blog page focused primarily on zine making, along with some other small projects I wanted to share. Since 2022, I’ve been creating and self-publishing themed art zines inspired by my interests and everyday observations. Each issue combines drawings and words to reflect my thoughts and discoveries. Selected zines are available through my Ko-fi shop

Fire Hydrant (working title)
I’ve gotten into the habit of looking at fire hydrants whenever I go for a walk. Compared to the Little Free Libraries around the neighborhood, fire hydrants just sit quietly by the road, barely getting any attention. (Don’t get me wrong, I like Little Free Libraries too!) It all started one day when I noticed a fire hydrant standing in a patch of grass. It looked kind of quiet and maybe a little lonely. After that, I started paying more attention to fire hydrants, and the mo

08 The Star (Working title)
After months of sitting with my thoughts, I finally have more confidence in showing my tarot card designs. 🦉 When I picked this topic for the next mini zine, I knew it wouldn't be easy. To understand where I stood when looking at the cards, I constantly checked what my sources (several books and websites) said, revisited past experiences, and analyzed everything more deeply. There were struggles, stuck moments, and confusion all fused together. Then, understanding would ligh

Art Zine: Picnic Day
Kapp’n and his family are heading into the forest for a picnic! Along the way, they run into many familiar NPCs, each enjoying their own little corner of the forest. And just when they think they’ve seen everyone, they meet Joan and her granddaughter, Daisy Mae. Animal Crossing is one of my favorite games, and I still play it today. (I also play Pikmin and Tetris 99.) I thought, if I’ve designed Pikmin fabric, how could I not have my own Animal Crossing fabric? Kapp’n has alw

07. Slow Life @ 65 BPM (Jku's Drawing Notes)
Laya Ballon is a young woman chasing her dream of becoming a fashion model. The industry looks glamorous, but it moves at a fast pace and comes with constant pressure. Along the way, she starts collecting small self-care rituals, including learning to play a slow guitar song, to get her energy back. The idea was inspired by 吉沢深雪's "わたしに元気を送る12の方法". Among the many books on self-care, I chose to focus on the methods that truly worked for me. As the ideas came together, I let my

06. Ornaments That Speak (Jku's Drawing Notes)
Have you ever thought about the decoration of small objects in your everyday life that might hold a meaning or purpose? they could be too small to be notieced, or perhaps they really have no hidden meaning. This zine continues the story of Puchi and Pinako's life above water, and the small objects that bring them emotional support. Sticker made for this zine٩(◕‿◕)۶ Do you want to know how Puchi and Pinako first met? Check out my mini art zine: 05. The Time We Spent Together (

04: The Purple Madness (Jku's Drawing Notes)
I never thought that reading about synthetic dye would lead me to a hands-on dyeing experiment. This zine is a mix of notes on the history of the color purple (sort of), a little bit of science (...eh), and, as always, a section of artwork and a short comic. Artworks showcased in this zine:

03. Nostalgic Colors...Not =p (Jku's Drawing Notes)
This month's theme was meant to explore retro aesthetics through colors and designs, but it naturally shifted into a reflection on culture and identity. Along the way, questions like "Which retro era is this?" and "Whose colors am I referencing?" shaped the creative process beyong its original intent. (JKU's Drawing Notes is a monthly mini art zine with a theme randomly chosen by the artist.) Limited copies are available on my online store: Ko-fi Artworks showcased in the zin

JKU's Drawing Notes 02- The Merry Widow Hats
JKU's Drawing Notes is a monthly mini art zine with a theme randomly chosen by the artist. This is the assignment I want to try for myself and see how long I can keep it going. This mini art zine showcases my original hat designs and notes from exploring the concept of the Merry Widow Hat. The zines are available in my Ko-fi shop. JKU's Drawing Notes 01
JKU's Drawing Notes is a monthly mini art zine with a theme randomly chosen by the artist (that's me!). This is an assignment I created for myself to see how long I can keep it going. For the first issue, I chose 12 dresses worn by Eliza Doolittle in the 1964 film My Fair Lady. I love the fashion designed by Cecil Beaton and the comedy in the story. The zines may be available in my Ko-fi shop. Thank you! (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤ ───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───── A little notes to myself ───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───── M

Zine: Walk with Pikmin
The current zine I am working on now is about the area where I have lived for two years. It all began with the app Pikmin Bloom, which I started using to learn more about this neighborhood. If Pikmin Bloom is about walking and collecting postcards, I want this zine to be a collection of what I encounter and see when I walk around the area. The theme, collection, sounded obvious but it took me a while to figure that out. After about 11 monthes of drawing, my pikmin zine is fin

Zine: Rediscovering The Aquarium (updated)
I am truly happy that I finally finished another zine in full color after four months or so. The time I've spent was meaningful personally. I challenged myself to complete another project, and I want to continue making more of this and keep the energy going. Even though I am not sure where this would lead me as an artist, I know that I won't find anything if I stop. 😼 Click the image and swipe to see the full zine. 😊 If you like my zine, feel free to support it by leaving a

Zine: 2017 Ink Doodle
This is my very first booklet featuring a collection of my 2017 Inktober drawings. I'm not entirely sure if it qualifies as a zine, but I personally printed and bound it myself—I stapled and trimmed each one! 😆 I made a total of 1 (sample) + 50 booklets, and they were all sold out. For the purpose of organization and record-keeping, I would like to share it and showcase it at the art show as well. 😌 Click the image and swipe to see the full zine. 😊 If you like my drawing,
