Fire Hydrant (working title)
Updated: 4 days ago
I’ve gotten into the habit of looking at fire hydrants whenever I go for a walk. Compared to the Little Free Libraries around the neighborhood, fire hydrants just sit quietly by the road, barely getting any attention. (Don’t get me wrong, I like Little Free Libraries too!)
It all started one day when I noticed a fire hydrant standing in a patch of grass. It looked kind of quiet and maybe a little lonely. After that, I started paying more attention to fire hydrants, and the more I noticed them, the more I found these chunks of metal kind of adorable. So I started taking pictures and drawing them whenever I came across one with a cute design.
Eventually, I had enough drawings to turn them into a mini zine. The notes I made along the way were mostly just for myself. Nothing too serious, and some of the information might not even be accurate. Oh well... 🙂
If anything here catches your interest, feel free to look into it further. Have fun!
Notes on fire hydrants I collected through out the time. 🙂

Google Image Search keeps saying it's a Model M2 made by Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe Co., which was established by McWane in 1926, but the image it provided does not match the one I'm examining. It also suggested Mueller as the manufacturer, but I'm not sure about that.
I don't know many fire hydrant brands yet. Based on what I've researched lately, I think it looks more like a Clow Valve: Medallion or Mueller hydrant, but I'm not 100% sure.
